Okay, so I saw these “maple puffs” things all over the internet and figured, why not? I mean, they looked simple enough, and who doesn’t love maple flavor?
First, I gathered my ingredients. I needed some puff pastry, of course. I just used the store-bought kind because, let’s be real, who has time to make that from scratch? Then, maple syrup – the real stuff, not that fake pancake syrup. I also grabbed some butter, an egg, and a bit of powdered sugar for later.

Getting Started
I preheated my oven to whatever the puff pastry box said, I think it was like 375 or something. While that was heating up, I rolled out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. It was kinda sticky, so I had to add a bit more flour than I thought.
Then, I melted the butter in a small saucepan and stirred in the maple syrup. I just eyeballed the amounts, honestly. Probably like a couple tablespoons of butter and a good glug of syrup. It smelled amazing, by the way.
Next, I brushed the maple-butter mixture all over the puff pastry. Make sure to get it all the way to the edges! Then, I rolled the pastry up into a tight log, kinda like you’re making cinnamon rolls.
Baking Time
I sliced the log into about 1-inch thick rounds and placed them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. I gave them a little space between each other so they wouldn’t stick together.
Before popping them in the oven, I whisked the egg with a little water and brushed it over the tops of the puffs. This is supposed to give them a nice golden color, I guess.
I baked them for… I don’t know, maybe 15-20 minutes? I just kept checking on them until they were puffed up and golden brown. My kitchen smelled SO good at this point.
Finishing Touches
Once they were out of the oven, I let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Then, I dusted them with powdered sugar. Because why not? More sugar is always good.

And that’s it! They were actually pretty easy to make, and they tasted delicious. Super flaky and buttery, with that perfect maple flavor. Definitely a win in my book. Will be doing again!
