Okay, so, I tried making a breast cake the other day. You know, for fun. It all started when I saw these silicone molds online, and I thought, “Why not?” They’re supposed to be super flexible and non-stick, perfect for detailed designs. Plus, I figured it would be a good laugh.
First off, I got myself a couple of these silicone breast cake molds. I’d heard they were a game-changer in the baking world, so I was pretty excited to try them out. I also grabbed some regular 8” cylinder cake pans for the wider base of the cake, just like the instructions said.

Then, I made the cake batter. Nothing fancy, just a regular mix. The important part was prepping the molds. I sprayed them with a non-stick cooking spray to make sure the cakes wouldn’t stick. I’d heard horror stories about cakes getting stuck and ruining the whole design, so I made sure to be generous with the spray.
Making the Cake Pan Out of Aluminum Foil
But here’s the kicker – I also wanted to experiment a bit. I tried making a custom cake pan out of aluminum foil. I basically just folded the foil to create the walls of the shape I wanted, and then I used some more foil to cover the outline and the bottom. It was a bit tricky, but it worked! I ended up with a sort of wonky, boob-shaped pan.
Once the molds were ready, I filled them about halfway with the batter. I didn’t want to overfill them because I know batter expands when it bakes. I carefully placed each mold onto a baking sheet and popped them into the oven.
Baking and Cooling
The silicone molds went into the oven for about 10-15 minutes. The foil pan took a little longer, but I kept a close eye on it. I poked them with a toothpick to make sure they were done – you know, the usual way to check if a cake is baked.
After they were done, I took them out and let them cool. I was super careful when I took the cakes out of the silicone molds. They came out pretty easily, thanks to the non-stick spray and the flexibility of the silicone. The foil pan was a bit more challenging, but I managed to get the cake out without too much damage.
The Final Result
The cakes turned out pretty good! The silicone molds gave a nice, smooth shape, and the details were surprisingly clear. The foil pan cake was a bit rough around the edges, but hey, it was a fun experiment. It was a bit misshapen, but recognizable.
All in all, it was a fun little project. The silicone molds are definitely worth it if you’re into making detailed cakes. And the foil pan thing? Well, it’s a good trick if you’re in a pinch and need a custom shape. Would I make a breast cake again? Maybe. It was a good laugh, and the cakes tasted pretty good, too. The whole experience was definitely a good story to share with friends. I even took some photos to show off my baking adventure.
