Okay, so the other day I got this wild idea to make a holiday ice cream pie. I’d seen some fancy ones online, but I wanted to do my own thing, you know? Keep it simple but awesome.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a pre-made graham cracker crust. I mean, who has time to make one from scratch during the holidays? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Then I picked out my ice cream flavors. I went with peppermint, ’cause it’s festive, and then some chocolate, because, duh, chocolate is always a good idea. Also some vanilla, for a classic base, to keep basic people happy.

The Fun Part: Layering
I let the ice cream soften up a bit, so it was easy to spread. Not like, totally melted, just soft enough to work with. Then I started layering. I scooped in the vanilla first, smoothed it out, and then did the same with the chocolate. I made little swirl patterns while doing it. The peppermint went on top, and I made sure to get it all the way to the edges.
Making it Festive
This is where it got real fun. I crushed up some candy canes – just whacked ’em with a rolling pin in a plastic bag. Then, I sprinkled the crushed candy canes all over the top. I also added some chocolate shavings, because why not? More is more, right?
The Hardest Part: Waiting
Once it was all assembled, I popped the pie in the freezer. And then… I waited. This was the tough part. It needed to be in there for at least a few hours to get solid. I think I checked on it, like, a million times. I’m very impatient, so I set a timer on my phone to stop me from opening the freezer door too soon.
The Big Reveal
Finally, the timer went off! I pulled out the pie, and it looked amazing – all those layers and the candy cane topping. I sliced it up, and everyone loved it. Seriously, it was gone in, like, minutes.
Best part is that I made somthing fun all by myself.
