Okay, so, I’ve been baking a lot lately, and my old flour sifter was, well, let’s just say it had seen better days. It was one of those crank-handle ones, and it was getting all rusty and jammed up all the time. It was a real pain. So, I decided it was time for an upgrade. I needed a new commercial flour sifter.
First, I hit up the internet, just browsing around to see what was out there. You know, typed in “flour sifter” and looked at some of the top results. I saw a bunch of different kinds, some with those crank handles like my old one, and some that were more like big strainers.

I read a few articles, a top-ten list or something like that, and I noticed a couple of brands that kept popping up. One was called “Bellemain”, and it looked pretty solid in the pictures, it is a classic sifter. And there was another one, “YLYL”. This YLYL one, it came in a 3-pack, different sizes and it has super-fine mesh. Seemed like a good deal.
After looking at those, I decided I didn’t really want another crank-handle one. They just seem to break easily, at least in my experience. I was leaning more towards the strainer type, especially that YLYL one with the fine mesh. I mean, who doesn’t want super fine flour, right?
So, I made the purchase, and I ordered the YLYL 3-pack. It arrived a few days later, and I was pretty excited to try it out. And what do you know? It is great!
The YLYL are made of stainless steel. They’re really sturdy. I sifted some flour, some powdered sugar, even some cocoa powder, and it all went through really easily, the handle is comfortable to hold. I also use it for draining pasta. It also has a great price, it is totally worth it. No clumps, and no getting stuck like with my old sifter.
- Super Fine Mesh: This thing gets your flour really fine. It’s perfect for cakes and pastries.
- Different Sizes: It comes with three different sizes, so you can use it for other stuff too, not just sifting.
- Easy to Clean: Just rinse it under the tap, and you’re good to go.
- Durable: It feels like it’s going to last a long time, not like those flimsy crank-handle ones.
Here’s what I like about it:
Honestly, I’m really happy with this purchase. It is definitely better than my old one. If you’re looking for a new flour sifter, I’d definitely recommend checking out the YLYL ones. They’re a good deal, and they work great.
