So, I needed to get a new digital scale, and after looking around a bit, I decided to go with this Taylor one. It looks pretty sleek, and the price was right. But I’ve never used one of these things, and there is no user guide here. I was thinking maybe I should just go online and find the manual, but then I thought, “Hey, I can just figure this out myself, right? It can’t be that hard.”
First things first, I needed to find a good spot for it. I remember reading somewhere that you should use it on a hard, flat surface. My bathroom floor is tiled, but it’s not perfectly even, so that wouldn’t work. I found a good spot in the hallway, and I placed it down there.

Then I grabbed the scale and looked for a battery compartment. There’s no battery in there. I remembered that I should set the scale on the floor without the battery, so I did that. Then I stood on it for about 10 seconds, just like I read online. After that, I picked it up again, carefully inserted the battery into it. And then set it back on the floor.
Now for the moment of truth. I stepped on the scale, and voila! The display lit up, showing my weight. It’s even got this cool backlight feature, so you can see the numbers even if the room is a bit dim. I guess I didn’t need a manual after all! Figuring it out myself was way more satisfying, anyway.
- Placed the scale on a hard, flat surface.
- Stood on the scale for 10 seconds without the battery.
- Inserted the battery into it.
- Set the scale on the floor with the battery.
So yeah, that’s how I got my new Taylor digital scale up and running. It was a breeze! I’m pretty happy with myself for figuring it out without any help. Who needs manuals, right?
