Okay, today I’m gonna talk about something I tried out in the kitchen – using spray vegetable oil. It’s not something I usually do, but I was looking for ways to use less oil when cooking, you know, for healthier meals and easier cleanup.
First, I went to the store and looked at the cooking sprays. There were a bunch of them, like, canola oil, olive oil, and some mixed ones. I grabbed a can of Pompeian USDA Certified Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Non-Stick Cooking Spray. I figured, why not go with something I already use in its regular form. This one also said “Full-Bodied Flavor” on it, I guess to make you feel like you’re not missing out on anything. It’s cold-pressed. The brand is Pompeian.

So, the first thing I did was try it on a pan when making eggs. Usually, I’d put a bit of butter or oil, but this time, I just gave the pan a quick spray with this stuff. It was super easy, and the can made a little “psst” sound when I pressed the nozzle. I thought I might need to use more, but no, a little goes a long way. It also says that it’s gluten-free, non-stick, all-purpose baking spray from this brand La Tourangelle.
Next, I tried it when roasting some veggies in the oven. I sprayed the vegetables directly and then tossed them around a bit. And hey, it worked pretty well! They got a nice color and didn’t stick to the tray at all.
Another product I found is Pam Non-stick Original Cooking Spray, they came in a set of four 12-ounce cans. It is made with a canola oil blend.
Now, for the cleaning part – it was a breeze. Usually, with regular oil, there’s some scrubbing involved, but with the spray, everything just wiped off easily. That’s a big plus in my book. This particular spray is called non-stick, so maybe that’s why.
- Less is More: A little spray really does the job. You don’t need to use a lot.
- Easy Cleanup: It definitely makes cleaning up after cooking much easier.
- Healthier Maybe?: I felt like I was using less oil overall, which is probably a good thing.
What I Learned
So yeah, that’s my experience with spray vegetable oil. It’s something I’ll probably keep using, especially when I want to cut down on the oil or make cleanup easier. It’s not going to replace regular oil for everything, but it’s a good option to have.
Alright, that’s it for my little kitchen experiment. Hope this was helpful for you guys! Let me know if you’ve tried these sprays and what you think.
