Okay, so I was on this mission to find a good flour sifter, and let me tell you, the Bromwells one kept popping up. I figured, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I ordered one.
First thing I did when it arrived was give it a good once-over. It’s all metal, which I liked – felt sturdy. No flimsy plastic bits to worry about breaking. The crank was smooth, no sticking or grinding, which is a good sign.

Putting it to the Test
I decided to make a batch of my grandma’s famous biscuits, which require a REALLY good sifting. I loaded up the sifter with flour, maybe a little too much, I admit.
- I started cranking, and at first, it was smooth sailing. The flour came out nice and fluffy, no lumps.
- Then, because I overfilled it, a little bit of flour started to spill out the sides. My bad. Lesson learned: don’t overfill!
- But even with my little mishap, it did a fantastic job. The flour was perfectly sifted, and my biscuits turned out amazing – light and fluffy, just like Grandma’s.
After the baking, I took a look at the clean-up. I was a bit worried it would be a pain, with flour getting stuck everywhere. But I just tapped it out, gave it a quick rinse, and it was good to go. I did not use any cleaning materials. Pretty easy, actually.
Overall, I’m super happy with this Bromwells sifter. It feels like it’ll last forever, it works great (even when I mess up), and it’s not a nightmare to clean. Definitely a win in my book!
