Okay, so I wanted to get into making my own vape juice, you know, save some money and experiment with flavors. The thing is, you gotta be pretty precise with the measurements, especially the nicotine. So, I needed a scale, and not just any kitchen scale, but one that could measure tiny amounts, like we’re talking milligrams.
I did some digging around, and it seemed like a “mini gram scale” was the way to go. Found a bunch online, but ended up grabbing one from a local shop. It was pretty cheap, like twenty bucks.

Unboxing and First Impressions
Got it home, ripped open the box. It’s this little black rectangle, fits in the palm of my hand. Came with a couple of AAA batteries, which was nice. Popped those in, and it lit up with a blue backlight. There’s a little plastic cover you gotta take off, and underneath is the weighing platform, just a small square of metal.
Testing it Out
It has a few buttons: power, mode (to switch between grams, ounces, etc.), and tare. Tare is important, that’s how you zero it out. So, I grabbed a small mixing bottle, put it on the scale, hit tare, and the display went to 0.000. Perfect!
Then, I started adding my ingredients. First, the PG (propylene glycol), which is pretty thin. The scale picked it up no problem. Then the VG (vegetable glycerin), which is much thicker. Again, the scale was showing the weight increase, nice and steady.
- Grabbed my nicotine solution, and this is where the precision really matters.
- Used a syringe to slowly drip it in, watching the numbers on the scale climb.
- I was aiming for a specific nicotine strength, so I went slow and steady.
- Got it exactly where I wanted it!
Finally, added my flavor concentrates, also using a syringe, just a few drops at a time. The scale was sensitive enough to register even those tiny amounts.
Awesome!
The Results
Mixed everything up, let it steep for a bit, and… it worked! My first batch of homemade vape juice, and the nicotine strength was spot on. The flavor was pretty good too, though I’m still experimenting with that.
Honestly, this little scale is a game changer. I can now reliably mix my own juice, knowing the measurements are accurate. And it’s not just for vape juice, I’ve used it for measuring out coffee beans, spices, and even some supplements. For the price, it’s been a super useful tool.

I’ve dropped the scale accidentally onto floor, the plastic looks cheap but it’s very durable.
If you’re looking to measure small stuff with some good accuracy, I definitely recommend checking out a mini gram scale. Just make sure it can handle the weight range you need, and that it’s got a tare function. Happy measuring!
