Make Chicken Curry Naan Bread: Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners Today!

Let me tell you about this little cooking adventure I had the other day. So, I decided to make some chicken curry with naan bread. It sounded pretty good, and I thought, why not give it a shot?

First off, I grabbed some chicken—a mix of breasts, thighs, you know, whatever was in the fridge. Tossed them in a bowl with a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Nothing fancy, just wanted to give them a little flavor before the real action started.

Make Chicken Curry Naan Bread: Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners Today!

I preheated my oven and threw the chicken in there. No need to flip or fuss over them, just let them roast for about half an hour. While the chicken was doing its thing, I started on the curry.

Got a big pot, added some spices, onions, garlic and all the aromatics. The smell in the kitchen, goodness, so good! After marinating the chicken for a bit, added to the pot, browned it up real nice on all sides. Then, I poured in some coconut milk and chicken broth. Brought everything to a nice simmer.

While the curry was simmering away, I moved on to the naan. Now, I’ve never made naan before, so this was an experience. Mixed up the dough—flour, water, yeast, the usual suspects. Placed the dough in a lightly greased bowl, covered it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours. I did my best to follow some instructions I found. Divided the dough into smaller pieces, rolled them out, and cooked them in a dry skillet.

  • Let it rise

  • Cooked in a skillet

Heated up a dry skillet over medium-high heat, and threw a piece of rolled-out dough on there. Cooked it for a minute or two until I saw some bubbles and golden spots. Then flipped it and did the same on the other side. They puffed up nicely, which was pretty cool to watch.

By the time the naan was done, the chicken curry had simmered to perfection. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was thick and flavorful. Served up the curry with the freshly made naan, and boy, was it a feast!

Honestly, it turned out better than I expected. It was a bit of work, especially with the naan, but totally worth it. The combination of the spicy, creamy curry with the soft, fluffy naan was just delicious. Definitely making this again sometime!
