Okay, so I’ve been seeing Lady M’s matcha cake all over Instagram, and I finally decided to give it a try. It looked intimidating, but I was determined!
Getting Started
First, I gathered all the ingredients. This was a bit of a mission, especially finding good quality matcha powder. I ended up going to a specialty tea shop for that.

- Eggs
- Sugar
- Flour
- Milk
- Butter
- And of course, that precious matcha!
I whisked the eggs and sugar together like crazy until it was all pale and fluffy. This took some serious arm work, I’m not gonna lie.
Making the Crepes
Next, I gradually added in the flour and milk, making sure there were no lumps. The batter was super thin, almost like water. I was a bit worried at this point, but I pressed on!
Then came the crepe-making marathon. I heated up my non-stick pan, poured in a tiny bit of batter, and swirled it around to make the thinnest crepe possible. I think I messed up the first couple, but eventually, I got the hang of it. It took forever, I have to made, to 20!
The Matcha Cream
While the crepes were cooling, I whipped up the matcha cream.I mixed a little matcha into the cream until it became a beautifle color.
Assembling the Masterpiece
Finally, it was time to assemble the cake. I layered a crepe, spread a thin layer of matcha cream, and repeated the process until all the crepes were used up. It was starting to look like the real deal!
I chilled the cake in the fridge for a few hours to let everything set. The anticipation was killing me!

The Taste Test
Finally, the moment of truth! I sliced into the cake, and it looked amazing – all those perfect layers. And the taste? Oh. My. Goodness. It was light, fluffy, and the matcha flavor was just perfect. It was definitely worth all the effort!
So, yeah, that’s my Lady M matcha cake adventure. It was a bit of a challenge, but totally worth it. If you’re thinking of trying it, go for it! Just be prepared for a lot of crepe-making.
