How to Make Mayonnaise Biscuits with All-Purpose Flour for Perfect Texture
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Well, I gotta tell ya, if you’re lookin’ to make them mayonnaise biscuits, it ain’t that hard, I promise ya. You don’t need fancy stuff, just some good ol’ all-purpose flour, mayonnaise, and a few other bits and bobs. So, let me tell you how to make them, step by step, and before you know it, you’ll have yourself a warm batch of biscuits ready to go with any meal!

How to Make Mayonnaise Biscuits with All-Purpose Flour for Perfect Texture

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise (yep, you heard right! Mayonnaise, not butter!)
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Now, I know some folks might be scratching their heads, thinkin’, “Mayonnaise in biscuits? What’s that about?” Well, honey, let me tell ya – mayonnaise is just eggs and oil, so it gives them biscuits a nice soft texture and a little bit of flavor. Ain’t no need for butter or lard, though if you got some, I ain’t sayin’ don’t use it, but mayonnaise works just fine, trust me on that.

Directions:

First, you wanna take that all-purpose flour and put it in a big ol’ bowl. Now, don’t go makin’ a mess, just pour it in nice and steady. After that, add the sugar. Stir it up a bit with your hands or a spoon, whatever you prefer. It don’t need to be fancy, just mix it together.

Next, add the mayonnaise. Yup, just plop it in there. Don’t worry, it won’t look pretty at first, but that’s okay. Then pour in the milk, and stir it all together. If it feels too dry, just add a little more milk, but don’t make it too runny. You want it to be a nice, soft dough, but not like soup. You’ll know it when you feel it with your hands.

Now comes the fun part. Get your hands in there and knead the dough for a minute or two, just so everything sticks together. Be gentle though, don’t go all crazy with it. You don’t want tough biscuits, so just enough to form a dough ball.

Once you got your dough all ready, roll it out on a floured surface. Now, if you ain’t got a rolling pin, no worries – you can just pat it down with your hands. You want it to be about half an inch thick. Then, take a biscuit cutter or a glass (yes, a glass works just fine) and cut out your biscuits. You should get about 8 or so biscuits, depending on how big you make ’em.

Now, take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper or just grease it up good. Place the biscuits on there, not too close together, but just enough so they can puff up nicely. Pop ’em in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 12-15 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when they start to turn golden brown on top. Oh, and the smell, well, you’ll know it’s time when your kitchen smells like heaven.

Once they’re done, pull ‘em out and let them cool down just a little. Then, break one open and take a big ol’ bite. I promise, they’re light, fluffy, and soft, just the way a good biscuit should be.

These mayonnaise biscuits are just about the easiest biscuits you’ll ever make, and they’re perfect for any meal. Whether you’re makin’ ‘em for breakfast with a little jam or for dinner with a pot of beans, they’ll do the trick. And don’t worry if you don’t got no self-risin’ flour – just use your regular all-purpose flour like I told ya. It’ll turn out just fine.

Some Tips:

  • If you want your biscuits to be extra fluffy, don’t overwork the dough.
  • You can add a pinch of salt to the dough if you like, but it’s not necessary if you’re using mayonnaise.
  • If you don’t got no milk, you can use buttermilk or even cream if you got some on hand.

So there you go, now you know how to make them mayonnaise biscuits with all-purpose flour. Ain’t too complicated, is it? Just a few simple ingredients and you’ve got yourself some biscuits that’ll make your whole family smile. And the best part? You don’t need no fancy ingredients, just what you got around the house. Now go on, get to bakin’, and enjoy those biscuits!
