Okay, here’s my experience with Ritz whole wheat crackers and their calories.
So, I’ve been trying to keep a closer eye on what I eat lately. You know, the usual. I grabbed a box of Ritz whole wheat crackers the other day, thinking they might be a slightly healthier snack option. My first move was to take a good look at the nutrition label on the back.

I flipped the box over and there it was, the classic black-and-white nutrition facts. The serving size is listed as 5 crackers. For those 5 crackers, it says there are 70 calories. Honestly, that’s not terrible. I figured I could work with that.
Then I started looking at the breakdown of those calories. It says 60% are from carbs, 34% from fat, and 6% from protein.
- Carbs: 60% (about 10g total, 9g net)
- Fat: 34% (around 2.5g)
- Protein: 6% (just 1g)
I noticed it says these crackers are relatively high in calorie density. I guess that means you’re getting a good amount of calories for a small portion. Also, I noticed that it says it can releaves minor health problems like muscle weakness.
I also checked out the “nutrition grade,” which is a C, along with a mention of “problematic ingredients.” I’m not totally sure what to make of that. I guess it means they’re not the worst snack out there, but probably not the best either. I need to look into that more. And there are mentions about vitamins and minerals, too, but nothing that really jumps out at me.
Anyway, I ended up eating a handful of these crackers with some cheese. They were pretty tasty, I’ll give them that. They have that classic Ritz buttery flavor, even though they’re whole wheat. But I did try to be mindful of how many I was eating because those calories can add up quickly. You know what they say about moderation!
Overall, I think Ritz whole wheat crackers are an okay snack option if you’re watching your calories. Just be sure to pay attention to the serving size, and don’t go overboard. As with anything, moderation is key. I’ll probably keep them around as an occasional treat. But I’m definitely going to keep exploring other snack options, too. You never know what you might find! Maybe next time I’ll try to bake my own crackers. Now that could be an adventure!
