Okay, so, I saw this super cute egg tart lamp online the other day, and I just had to try making one myself. I mean, who wouldn’t want a warm, cozy glow emanating from a fake pastry?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed the main ingredient: an egg tart shell. Of course, a real one would be a crumbly, sticky mess, so I grabbed some of those foil ones from the grocery store. You know, the kind you use for mini quiches or, well, actual egg tarts. I picked out the ones that looked the most “tart-like” – good shape, nice and golden.

Prepping the Shell
I had to remove the actual tart from the foil. Then Carefully washed the foil tart molds with soap and water, making sure to get rid of any leftover stickiness or crumbs.I wanted a clean base to work with, so I gave them a good scrub and let them dry completely.
Finding the Light
Next up, the light source. I rummaged through my drawer of random electronic bits and found some small, battery-operated LED tea lights. The flickering kind, because ambiance, people! I tested them out to make sure they worked and had enough juice.
Putting It All Together
This part was pretty straightforward. I simply placed the tea light inside the foil shell. It fit perfectly! The foil even helped reflect the light a bit, giving it a nice, warm glow. I tried a couple of different positions to see what looked best – centered, slightly off-center, you name it.
Final Touches
Now that is really easy to DIY. I turn on the light inside,it just looks like a glowing up tart! I made three in different sizes, it looks so nice and warm.
It’s not perfect, and it might not be as fancy as the one I saw online. It can be your home decoration, but also it can be a really cute gift!
