Okay, so I was on a mission. I needed a new rubber spatula, but not just any spatula. I wanted one with a wood handle. Why? I don’t know, I just like the feel of wood, and it looks nicer in my kitchen. So, the hunt began!
First, I checked out the local kitchen store. Nothing. Plenty of plastic handles, even some fancy silicone ones, but no wood. Strike one.

Next, I hit up a bigger department store. I figured they’d have everything. I spent a good 20 minutes wandering the kitchen aisles, dodging rogue shopping carts and confused-looking people. Still, no wood-handled spatulas. Seriously? Where are all the wood handles?
Feeling a bit defeated, I decided to try one last place – a little independent cookware shop downtown. It was kinda out of the way, but I had a good feeling. I walked in, and the smell of… well, cookware… filled the air.
I explained my quest to the owner, an older lady with a very serious apron. She nodded slowly and said, “Ah, yes. A classic choice.” She led me to a back corner, and there it was! A whole rack of spatulas, and several with beautiful, smooth wood handles. Success!
The choice
I had 3 differents models, and after looking at their differences I finally found one that suits me.
- The first model was a rubber spatula wood handle but it was a bit small.
- The second model was nice looking, but It was very expensive and too big, it has no sense.
- The third one was a simple one but with all my requirements, perfect size, the handle felt great in my hand, and the price was just right.
I grabbed it, paid the nice lady, and practically skipped out of the store. I know it’s just a spatula, but it’s the little things, right? Now I can make omelets in style! My kitchen finally had the perfect rubber spatula wood handle.
