Alright, let’s talk about them flower cookie cutters, you know, the things you use to make them pretty cookies. I ain’t no fancy baker or nothin’, but I do like makin’ cookies, especially when the grandkids come over.

First off, what the heck is a cookie cutter anyway? Well, it’s like a little mold, see? You push it down on the dough and bam! You got yourself a cookie in that shape. Some folks say “cookie cutter” for things that all look the same, like them houses they build all in a row, but we ain’t talkin’ about that today. We’re talkin’ about the ones you use for bakin’, the ones shaped like flowers.
Now, there’s all sorts of flower cookie cutters out there. You got your simple ones, just a basic flower shape. Then you got your fancy ones, with all sorts of little details, like petals and leaves and such. I seen some shaped like roses, some like daisies, even some like them sunflowers, big as your hand!
- Metal ones: These are the ones I like best. They’re strong and last a long time. You can find stainless steel ones, those are real good, don’t rust on ya. And they cut clean, none of that raggedy edges.
- Plastic ones: These are cheaper, that’s for sure. Good for kids, ‘cause they ain’t so sharp. But they can break easier, and sometimes they don’t cut so good.
Where can you get these flower cookie cutters? Shoot, just about anywhere. I seen ‘em at the big stores, you know, the ones with everything. And at them little kitchen shops, they got all sorts of fancy ones there. Heck, you can even order ‘em online, they’ll send ‘em right to your door. I heard tell there’s this place called Amazon, they got everything under the sun, including a whole mess of cookie cutters.
Using them ain’t rocket science, lemme tell ya. You just roll out your dough, nice and flat. Then you take your cookie cutter, dip it in some flour so it don’t stick, and press it down on the dough. Hard. Make sure you get all the way through. Then you just lift it up, and there’s your cookie! My grandkids love doin’ this part, even little Timmy, clumsy as he is.
Now, some folks ask, what if you don’t have a flower cookie cutter? Well, you can get creative, can’t ya? I heard you can use a plastic bottle, cut it up and shape it like a flower. Or you could just use a knife, cut out your own shapes. It ain’t gonna be perfect, but it’ll still be a cookie, and that’s all that matters, right? Kids ain’t gonna care if it ain’t perfect, they just wanna eat cookies.

I seen some places that sell whole sets of these flower cookie cutters. You get all different kinds, big ones, small ones, all sorts of flower shapes. That’s good if you’re makin’ a whole bunch of cookies, or if you just like to have lots of choices. Me, I just got a few, the ones I use all the time.
And don’t forget, you gotta clean them cookie cutters after you use ‘em. Just wash ‘em in hot soapy water, dry ‘em good, and they’ll be ready for next time. You don’t want no old dough stuck on them things, that ain’t right.
So there you have it, a whole bunch of talk about flower cookie cutters. They ain’t nothin’ fancy, but they sure do make bakin’ fun. And them cookies, shaped like pretty flowers, they just taste better, don’t they? Maybe it’s just me, but I think so. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got some cookies to bake.
