Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following your instructions:
So, I was craving something chocolatey the other day, but I didn’t want to, like, bake a whole cake. You know, effort. Then I remembered those mug cake things I’ve seen all over the internet. And guess what? I found one that was flourless. Less guilt, right? So, I gave it a shot, and here’s how it went down.

The Experiment Begins
First, I grabbed a regular coffee mug. Nothing fancy, just a standard-issue mug. Then, I started throwing in the ingredients, which, thankfully, I mostly had on hand. It’s kinda embarrassing how much baking stuff I have for someone who rarely bakes…
- I dumped in some cocoa powder. I think it was, like, 2 tablespoons? I kinda just eyeballed it.
- Then came the sugar. I used regular granulated sugar, about 2 tablespoons of that too. I probably should’ve used a bit less, it was pretty sweet.
- Next, an egg. I cracked that sucker in, trying not to get any shell in there.
- A splash of milk. Maybe a tablespoon? Again, I wasn’t super precise.
- And finally, a little bit of vanilla extract. Just a few drops for that extra somethin’-somethin’.
After getting all that stuff in the mug, I took a fork and mixed it like crazy. I wanted to make sure there were no weird lumps of cocoa powder hiding anywhere. It took a bit of stirring, but eventually, it looked like a smooth, chocolatey batter.
Microwave Magic
This is where the “magic” happens. I stuck the mug in the microwave and zapped it for, I think, 1 minute and 30 seconds. I was a little worried it would overflow, but it behaved itself. The smell, though…oh man, it was heavenly.
I carefully pulled the mug out (it was HOT!) and let it cool for a minute or two. It looked like a real, tiny cake! I sprinkled some powdered sugar on top, just to make it look a bit fancier. You know, for the ‘gram.
The Verdict
Okay, so it wasn’t the prettiest cake in the world. It was a little…rustic-looking. But the taste? Surprisingly good! It was moist, chocolatey, and definitely satisfied my craving. It was also super rich, so I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. Maybe next time I’ll share…or not.
All in all, I’d say this was a win. It was quick, easy, and required minimal cleanup. Perfect for a lazy night in. If you’re looking for a super simple chocolate fix, definitely give this flourless mug cake a try!
