Okay, so the other day, I got this wild idea to make some HUGE Christmas cookies. I’m not talking about your regular-sized Santa’s and snowmen. I wanted, like, GINORMOUS cookies. So I started hunting for big christmas cookie cutters.
First, I rummaged through all my kitchen drawers. Nothing. Just the usual suspects – the little stars, the basic trees. Nope, not gonna cut it.

Then I hit up my local craft store. I figured they’d have a decent selection, right? Walked up and down the baking aisle, scanned the shelves… Found some cute ones, but still, nothing that screamed “giant cookie.” I even asked one of the employees, and she just pointed me to the same section I’d already combed through.
Feeling a little defeated, I almost gave up. But then I thought, “Hey, I have my phone let’s see what happens.” so I did see some that was good for me. Then, I decided to get those!
I placed my order, and a few days later, a big box showed up at my door. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning (fitting, right?), and there they were! A massive gingerbread man, a huge snowflake, and a giant candy cane. Perfect!
I whipped up a batch of my favorite sugar cookie dough, rolled it out nice and thick, and got to work. These cutters were so big, I could only fit a couple on each baking sheet! It took a little longer to bake them, but it was totally worth it.
The best part? Decorating! I went all out with icing, sprinkles, candies… you name it. These cookies were so big, they were like blank canvases. My kids helped out, and we had a blast.
- Big tip: Make sure you have enough space in your oven (and on your cooling racks!) before you start this project. Seriously, these things were HUGE.
- Another tip: Use a good, sturdy dough that won’t spread too much. You don’t want your giant gingerbread man turning into a giant gingerbread blob.
- Also use a lot of Frosting. Use your hands and use alot!
In the end, I had a collection of the most epic Christmas cookies I’d ever made. They were almost too big to eat… almost! Definitely a fun project, and I can’t wait to do it again next year. Maybe I’ll even try to find even BIGGER cutters!
