Okay, so I saw this idea online for an English muffin dessert and I thought, “Why not?” I’m no baker, but this seemed easy enough even for me. I mean, how hard could it be, really?
Getting Started
First, I grabbed some English muffins from the pantry. Thankfully, I had a pack lying around that I’d totally forgotten about. Score! Then I checked the fridge for anything sweet. I found some leftover cream cheese frosting (from a cake I made last week – don’t judge) and a jar of strawberry jam. Perfect!
The Process (It’s Barely a Process)
I toasted the English muffins. I like them a little crispy, so I let them go a bit longer than usual. While they were toasting, I took out a small bowl and mixed the cream cheese frosting with a spoonful of the strawberry jam. I just eyeballed it, really. No precise measurements here!
Once the muffins were done, I carefully pulled them apart. Be careful, they can be hot! Then I spread my frosting-jam mixture on each half. Again, no fancy techniques, just slathered it on there.
The Finishing Touches (and Taste Test!)
At this point, I thought they looked a little plain. So, I rummaged through my baking supplies and found some sprinkles. I dusted a few on top of each muffin half. You know, for presentation.
Finally, it was time to try them! And you know what? They were actually pretty good! The crispy muffin, the creamy, sweet frosting, the little bit of tang from the jam… It all worked together. Honestly, it took me like, 10 minutes total, and it was a fun little treat.
- Taste: 8/10 (Would totally make again)
- Effort: 2/10 (Super easy!)
- Presentation: 5/10 (Sprinkles helped, but let’s be real, it’s not a masterpiece)
So, yeah, if you’re looking for a quick and easy dessert that even a non-baker like me can handle, give this a try. You might surprise yourself!
