Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post about making edible peanut butter cups, written in a casual, personal style:
So, I’ve been on this kick lately, trying to make all my favorite treats from scratch. It’s kinda fun, plus you know exactly what’s going into your food. This weekend, I decided to tackle peanut butter cups. Those little things are addictive, right?

First, I gathered all my stuff. I’m talking about:
- Chocolate chips – I used the semi-sweet kind, ’cause that’s what I had.
- Peanut butter – Gotta be creamy, folks!
- Powdered sugar – For sweetening up the peanut butter.
- Butter – Just a little bit, to make the filling smooth.
- Some Salt.
The Mixing Begins!
I started by melting the chocolate. Used my microwave for this doing it in 30-second bursts, and stirring like crazy in between, until it was all smooth and melty. Don’t want any burnt chocolate bits!
Then, I grabbed another bowl and mixed the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and the softened butter. I just eyeballed the amounts, really. Added some sugar, mixed, tasted, added some more, until it was sweet enough for my * add some * know, that sweet and salty vibe.
Putting It All Together
I got out these mini muffin liners – paper ones. I spooned a little bit of the melted chocolate into the bottom of each liner, just enough to make a base.
Next, I took small spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture and dropped them right on top of the chocolate layer. I didn’t make them perfect balls or anything, just kinda plopped them in.
Finally, I covered the peanut butter with more melted chocolate, making sure it was all sealed in. I tapped the muffin tin on the counter a few times to get the chocolate to settle evenly.
Chill Out Time
Into the fridge they went! I think I left them in there for about an hour, maybe a little longer. You just want the chocolate to be completely set.

And that’s it! I peeled off the paper liners, and there they were – my homemade peanut butter cups. Were they perfect-looking? Nope. Did they taste amazing? Heck yeah! Way better than store-bought, in my opinion. It’s all about that fresh peanut butter flavor.
Definitely making these again. Maybe next time I’ll try different types of chocolate, or add some sprinkles on top. The possibilities are endless!
