Okay, so I saw these super cute animal crackers cookie cutters online and I just had to try them out. I mean, who doesn’t love animal crackers? Especially homemade ones!
Getting Started
First, I gathered all my ingredients. I used a basic sugar cookie recipe – you know, the usual: flour, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla. Nothing fancy. The real stars of the show were going to be the cookie cutters, obviously.
Mixing and Rolling
I mixed everything up, following the recipe like a good little baker. The dough was a bit sticky, so I floured my countertop really well before I started rolling it out. I probably went a little overboard with the flour, but hey, better safe than sorry, right?
I rolled the dough out to about… I don’t know, maybe a quarter of an inch thick? I just eyeballed it. I’m not a professional, people! Then came the fun part.
Cutting Out the Animals
I carefully pressed the cookie cutters and I can finally have many cute animal shapes cookies. So cute!
Baking and Decorating
I popped them in the oven, I baked these little guys until they were golden brown around the edges, Then, Finally I have a lot of animal crackers!
I had so much fun making these, and they turned out pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself. Definitely worth the effort!
