Well, let me tell you, this here single serve bread pudding, it’s a real treat. Ain’t nothing fancy, just good old-fashioned cooking, like what your grandma used to make. Easy to make, easy to eat, that’s what I always say. And it’s a good way to use up that old bread that’s gettin’ a little hard. Waste not, want not, you know?

You just need some simple stuff, nothing you gotta go to a fancy store for. Some bread, some milk, couple of eggs, a little sugar. That’s the basics, anyway. This bread pudding, it’s the best thing. You can add other things too, if you want. Maybe some raisins, or a little cinnamon. I like to put a little vanilla in mine. Makes it smell real nice while it’s baking.

First thing you gotta do is tear up that bread. Just rip it into little pieces, doesn’t have to be perfect. Throw it in a little bowl, one that you can put in the oven. Then you mix up your milk and eggs and sugar. Just whisk it all together real good till it’s all mixed up.

  • Bread, gotta have bread. Stale is better.
  • Milk, the regular kind.
  • Eggs, just a couple.
  • Sugar, not too much, just enough to make it sweet.
  • Vanilla, if you got it.

Pour that milky egg stuff all over the bread. Make sure all the bread gets soaked. Then you just let it sit there for a little bit. Gives the bread time to soak up all that goodness. I usually let mine sit for about, oh, 15 minutes or so. Long enough to do a few dishes or sweep the floor.

Single serve bread pudding is a good dessert, you know. While it’s sitting, you can preheat your oven. I usually set mine to 350 degrees. Just a nice, medium heat. Don’t want it too hot, or it’ll burn the top before the inside is cooked. And nobody likes burnt bread pudding, let me tell you!

Once the oven’s hot, you just pop that little bowl of bread pudding right in there. And then you wait. It usually takes about 30 minutes, maybe a little longer. You know it’s done when it’s all puffed up and golden brown on top. And if you poke it with a knife, the knife comes out clean. No gooey stuff on it.

Now, don’t go eatin’ it right away! It’s gonna be hot! Let it cool down a little bit first. I know, it’s hard to wait when it smells so good, but you don’t wanna burn your tongue. This easy single serve bread pudding is worth the wait, believe me. You can have bread pudding anytime.

Some folks like to put a little sauce on their bread pudding. I’ve seen people use all kinds of fancy sauces, but I like to keep it simple. Sometimes I just heat up some berries, or maybe make a simple vanilla sauce. Just a little milk, sugar, and vanilla, heated up on the stove. Nothing fancy.

Bread pudding ain’t good if you overcook it, or undercook it. If you take it out too early it’s all mushy. That ain’t good eatin’. And if you leave it too long, it’s dry as a bone. You gotta get it just right. Takes some practice, but you’ll get the hang of it. I remember when I first started, it was not good.

Bread pudding is good for when it’s cold outside. It’s warm and comforting, you know? Fills you up and makes you feel all cozy inside. It’s like a big hug in a bowl. Perfect for a chilly evening. Just curl up on the couch with a blanket and a bowl of bread pudding, and you’re all set.

You can make bread pudding with any kind of bread, really. White bread, wheat bread, even them fancy breads with all the seeds and stuff in it. I’ve even used hot dog buns before! And you can add all kinds of things to it, too. Like I said before, raisins are good. Or nuts, if you like nuts. Chocolate chips, maybe. I even heard of people putting fruit in it, like apples or peaches. Just get creative with it! This is the best way to use up old bread.

If you want to keep it, you just put it in the icebox. It will last a few days, maybe. But let me tell you something. That bread pudding, it is so good. It won’t last long in my house. It’s usually gone in a day. This dessert, single serve, is good anytime.
