Coloring Gingerbread House: Fun for All Ages! Easy Guide for Beginners and Tips to Get Started.

Okay, so today I wanted to do something fun with the kids, and we decided to color some gingerbread houses. Nothing fancy, just a nice little activity to get into that holiday spirit.

First, I looked up some printable gingerbread house coloring pages online. There were tons of options! We picked out a few that looked cute and easy enough for the little ones. Some had simple shapes, and others were a bit more detailed with all sorts of candies and decorations.

Getting Everything Ready

Then, I gathered all our coloring supplies. We’re talking crayons, colored pencils, and even some markers for those who wanted to be extra bold. I also made sure we had a good, clear table to work on, so we wouldn’t be cramped.

Time to Color!

The kids dove right in. My youngest grabbed the crayons and started with big, sweeping strokes of color. It was adorable. The older ones were more meticulous, carefully coloring in each little gumdrop and candy cane. They used some puffy paint to make it more interesting.

Mixing Colors

I even got in on the action. I decided to make my gingerbread house look a bit more realistic, so I mixed some brown and a touch of red to get that perfect gingerbread color. I used it to make the house’s walls and the gingerbread man on the page.

The Final Result

After about an hour, we were all done. We laid out all the finished pages, and it was like a little gingerbread village! Each house had its own personality, thanks to the different coloring styles and the colors each person picked.

It was such a simple activity, but it was so much fun. The kids loved it, and it was nice to just sit down and do something creative together. Plus, now we have some cute decorations to hang up and add to our festive vibe.

This is definitely something we’ll be doing again. It’s perfect for a cozy afternoon, and you don’t need much to get started. Just some paper, coloring tools, and a little bit of imagination!

  • gather coloring supplies
  • color the pages with kids
  • display the art project

It was a good day, and I think it helped us all get a little more excited for the holidays.
