Okay, so today I decided to get a head start on Christmas baking. I found this adorable cake mold shaped like a Christmas tree, and I just had to try it out!
Getting Started
First, I gathered all my ingredients. I’m using a simple vanilla cake recipe – nothing fancy, just the basics: flour, sugar, eggs, butter, the usual suspects. I preheated the oven to 350°F (about 175°C) because, you know, gotta have a warm oven!

The Mixing Process
I started by creaming together the butter and sugar. Man, my arm got a workout! Then, I cracked in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Next, I gradually added the dry ingredients, alternating with a bit of milk. I mixed everything until it was just combined – don’t want to overmix it, or the cake will be tough.
Prepping the Mold
This is where the Christmas tree mold comes in! I greased it really well with some baking spray. I make sure to hit all details in the tree. You want every nook and cranny coated so the cake doesn’t stick. Then, I dusted it with a bit of flour, tapping out the excess.
Baking Time!
I carefully poured the batter into the mold, making sure it was evenly distributed. Then, into the oven it went! I baked it for around 35 minutes and used the time to clean a few things. I checked it with a toothpick – came out clean, so it was done!
Cooling and Decorating
I let the cake cool in the mold for about 10 minutes before I carefully flipped it out onto a wire rack. And guess what? It came out perfectly! No sticking, no breaking – success!
Once it was completely cool, it was time for the fun part: decorating! I had diffrent options.
- I use a simple glaze icing
- I sprinkled on some festive colored sprinkles
- I will keep it simple, maybe just use a tiny bit of powdered sugar.
And that’s it! My first Christmas bake of the year, all thanks to a cute little tree-shaped mold. It was super easy, and the result is just adorable. Now I can enjoy this yummy.
