Best Pie Crust Protector? See How Princess House Stacks Up Against the Rest

Okay, so, I’ve been on this pie-baking journey lately, right? And let me tell you, the crust is where the magic happens, but also where things can go south real quick. Burnt edges? No, thank you! So, I stumbled upon this thing called a “pie crust protector,” specifically from Princess House, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”

First off, I gotta say, I was kinda skeptical. I mean, I’ve always just used aluminum foil, you know, the old-school way. Make a ring and off you go. But let’s be real, it’s a bit of a hassle. Folding it, shaping it, and it never really stays put, does it? Plus, you gotta watch it like a hawk to make sure it doesn’t mess up your beautifully crimped edges.

So, I ordered this Princess House protector. It’s metal, which I found interesting. I’d tried one of those silicone ones before, and, well, let’s just say it ended up in the trash. It was too flimsy, kept sliding off, basically useless. This metal one, though, it felt sturdy, like it meant business.

The first time I used it, it was a breeze. I just placed it on top of my pie, and it fit perfectly. No fiddling around, no adjusting. It just sat there, like a silent guardian of my crust. I baked my pie as usual, and when it was done, guess what? The crust was golden brown, evenly baked, and not a burnt edge in sight!

Here is the way how I did it:

  • First, I made my pie crust as usual.
  • Then, I placed the Princess House pie crust protector on top of the crust. It’s super easy, it just sits right on there.
  • I baked the pie according to my recipe.
  • When the pie was done, I took it out of the oven and removed the protector.

And the best part? It’s reusable! I just washed it, and it’s ready for my next pie adventure. I’m telling you, this thing is a game-changer. No more burnt crusts, no more foil wrestling. Just perfect pies, every time. I feel like I’ve unlocked a new level of pie-baking, and I’m not going back!

And for those fancy decorated crusts, I just use egg wash to glue on the decorations after the crust is baked. Works like a charm!

If you’re serious about your pies, do yourself a favor and check out this pie crust protector. Trust me, you won’t regret it. It is worth every penny!
