Okay, so yesterday I got this HUGE craving for something sweet, and I remembered seeing this recipe for cinnamon sugar donut sweet bread. I figured, why not give it a shot? It’s not like I had anything better to do, and let’s be honest, who can resist the smell of cinnamon and sugar baking in the oven?
Getting Started
First things first, I gathered all my ingredients. I am a prepare for everything person. That mean: flour, sugar, yeast, milk, butter, eggs, and of course, the stars of the show – cinnamon and more sugar! I made sure my butter and milk were a bit warm, not hot, just kinda lukewarm. You know, to help wake up that yeast.

Making the Dough
I grabbed my biggest mixing bowl and tossed in the flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Then, I made a little well in the middle and poured in the warm milk and yeast mixture. I let that sit for a few minutes, until it got all bubbly and frothy. It’s like a mini science experiment, so cool!
Next, I added the melted butter and eggs, and started mixing everything together. At first, it looked like a shaggy mess, but I just kept kneading it, and kneading it, and kneading it. My arms were definitely getting a workout! Finally, it turned into this smooth, elastic ball of dough. That is a tiring job.
First Rise
I put the dough ball into a lightly oiled bowl, covered it with a kitchen towel, and left it in a warm place to rise. I think I waited for like, an hour? Maybe a bit more. Patience is not my strong suit, but I tried. I kept peeking at it, and eventually, it doubled in size! It’s like magic, I swear.
Shaping and Second Rise
I punched down the dough – it’s so satisfying, by the way – and turned it out onto a floured surface. I rolled it out into a big rectangle, then brushed it with melted butter. Oh, the butter! Then, I sprinkled it generously with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. I mean, generously. No skimping on the good stuff.
I rolled it up tightly, like a jelly roll, and sliced it into individual rounds. I arranged the rounds in a greased loaf pan, covered it up again, and let it rise for another 30 minutes or so. They got all puffy and cozy in there.
Baking Time!
Finally, it was time to bake! I popped the pan into a preheated oven (I think it was 350°F, but don’t quote me on that). And then, the waiting game began. The smell started wafting through the house, and oh my goodness, it was heavenly. Pure cinnamon-sugar bliss.
The Finished Product
After about 30 minutes, I pulled it out of the oven. The bread was golden brown and looked absolutely delicious. I let it cool for a bit – torture, I tell you – before slicing into it.

The result? It was even better than I expected! Warm, fluffy, sweet, and cinnamony. It was like eating a donut in bread form. So simple to made and super delicious!
