Okay, so I saw these super cute animal cracker cookie cutters online and just had to try them out. I mean, who doesn’t love animal crackers? I figured they’d be perfect for my niece’s birthday party.
Getting Started
First things first, I ordered the cookie cutters. They came in a pack with all the classic shapes – elephants, lions, bears, you name it. They were all different sizes too, which was pretty cool.

Making the Dough
Next up, I needed to make some dough.I just grabbed my go-to sugar cookie recipe – you know, the one your grandma probably used. Nothing fancy, just butter, sugar, eggs, flour, the usual suspects. I whipped everything together until it was nice and smooth. The key is to not overmix it, or your cookies will be tough.
Rolling and Cutting
Once the dough was ready, I floured my countertop and rolled it out to about 1/4 inch thick. Then came the fun part – stamping out the animal shapes! I made sure to dip the cutters in flour first, so they wouldn’t stick to the dough. It was a little tricky with the smaller ones, but I got the hang of it.I tried all my best to make everthing perfect.
Baking Time
- I preheated my oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Then I carefully arranged my lovely animal crackers on the baking paper.
- I baked them for about 8-10 minutes.
I kept a close eye on them, because they can burn pretty easily. You want them to be just barely golden brown around the edges.
The Final Result
They turned out so, so adorable! They looked just like the real deal, only bigger. And of course, they tasted amazing, because homemade cookies always do.
I would say it’s definetely a success * little niece and her friends loved them! Success!
