Okay, so today I wanna share my experience with my new large flour sifter. I’ve been wanting one for ages, mainly ’cause I do a lot of baking, and my old small one just wasn’t cutting it.
First off, I did some research online. Looked at a bunch of different brands and sizes. I wanted something that felt sturdy and could hold a decent amount of flour. Ended up going with one that had a crank handle and was made of stainless steel. Figured that would be durable enough for my clumsy self.

When it arrived, I was actually surprised by how big it was! Definitely larger than I expected, but hey, that’s what I wanted, right? I gave it a good wash with soap and water, just to be safe.
The first time I used it, I was making a cake. I usually dread sifting flour because it takes so long with the small sifter. But this time? It was a breeze! I just poured the flour in, started cranking the handle, and boom! Perfectly sifted flour in no time. I was honestly kinda impressed.
Here’s the breakdown of how I used it:
- First, make sure the sifter is clean and dry. No one wants flour clumping!
- Next, I scooped the flour into the sifter. I didn’t pack it down, just lightly filled it.
- Then, I held the sifter over my mixing bowl and started turning the crank handle. Nice and steady.
- Watched as the flour fell into the bowl, all nice and fluffy. It was strangely satisfying.
- Finally, I tapped the sides of the sifter a bit to get any remaining flour out. And that was it!
One thing I noticed is that it’s much easier to clean than my old sifter. The stainless steel is really easy to wipe down, and the parts come apart without too much fuss. Huge win in my book.
The Pros and Cons (according to me):
Pros:
- Sifts flour super quickly.
- Holds a good amount of flour.
- Easy to clean.
- Feels sturdy and well-made.
Cons:

- It’s kinda big, so it takes up a bit of storage space. But honestly, not a dealbreaker.
- The crank handle can be a little stiff at first, but it loosens up after a few uses.
Overall, I’m really happy with my new large flour sifter. It’s made baking so much easier and more enjoyable. If you’re a serious baker, I’d definitely recommend investing in one.
And that’s my story! Happy baking, folks!
