Best Deep Dish Dessert Pizza: Get the recipe here

Alright, so today I’m gonna share my experience making a deep dish dessert pizza. It was a fun experiment, and honestly, tasted pretty awesome. Let’s dive in!

First things first, I gathered my ingredients. I decided to go with a chocolate chip cookie dough base, because, well, who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies? I grabbed some pre-made dough from the store – ain’t got time to make it from scratch today! Also needed some cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract (for the cream cheese frosting), and a bunch of toppings. Think strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, chocolate shavings… you get the idea.

Next up, I took that cookie dough and pressed it into a well-greased deep dish pizza pan. Seriously, grease that pan good. You don’t want this thing sticking. I kinda eyeballed it to make sure the dough was evenly distributed, a little thicker on the sides to form that signature deep dish crust. Then, I pre-baked the cookie dough crust. I baked it at 350°F (about 175°C) for like, 15-20 minutes, until it was golden brown and set. Keep an eye on it, you don’t want it burnt! Let it cool completely before moving on.

While the crust was cooling, I whipped up the cream cheese frosting. Super simple: cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract. I just dumped it all in a bowl and beat it with a mixer until it was smooth and creamy. Taste as you go and adjust the sugar to your liking. I like mine a little tangy.

Okay, crust is cool, frosting is ready. Time to assemble! I spread that cream cheese frosting all over the cooled cookie dough crust. Nice and even. Don’t be shy with it! Then came the fun part: toppings! I arranged my berries, sprinkled chocolate shavings, and even added a few mini marshmallows for good measure. Go wild! This is where you get to be creative.

And that’s it! My deep dish dessert pizza was done. I sliced it up and shared it with some friends, and it was a total hit. The cookie dough crust was soft and chewy, the cream cheese frosting was sweet and tangy, and the berries added a nice burst of freshness. Definitely making this again!

Tips and Tricks I Learned:

  • Make sure the cookie dough crust is completely cooled before frosting it. Otherwise, the frosting will melt.
  • Don’t overbake the cookie dough crust. It should be golden brown, but still soft in the middle.
  • Get creative with your toppings! Use whatever fruits and candies you like.
  • If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can drizzle some melted chocolate or caramel over the top.

Overall, this was a really easy and fun recipe to make. I encourage you to try it out yourself! You won’t be disappointed.
