Okay, so yesterday I decided to finally get serious about my baking. I’ve always loved making cookies and the occasional cake, but I wanted to step it up a notch. So, I figured, why not invest in some pro baking tools? Let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey!
Getting Started – The Research
First, I hit up the internet. I mean, where else do you go for information these days? I started googling things like “best stand mixer” and “essential baking tools for serious bakers”. My search history was a mess of baking blogs and product reviews.

I spent a good couple of hours just reading and making notes. I quickly realized there’s a whole world of baking tools out there that I had no idea existed. I mean, who knew you needed so many different types of spatulas?
Making the Choices
After my research deep-dive, I narrowed down my list. I decided I definitely needed a good stand mixer. That was non-negotiable. Then, I added a digital scale (apparently, accuracy is key!), a set of good quality measuring cups and spoons, and a few different sized mixing bowls.
- Stand Mixer – I went for a mid-range one, didn’t want to break the bank just yet!
- Digital Scale – Super important for getting those precise measurements.
- Measuring Cups & Spoons – Got a set with both US and metric measurements, just in case.
- Mixing Bowls – Opted for a set of stainless steel bowls in various sizes.
- Spatulas – Okay, I splurged a little here and got a few different types: rubber, offset, and a small one for frosting.
The Shopping Spree
With my list in hand, I headed to a local kitchen supply * was like a candy store for bakers! I spent a good hour just wandering around, picking things up, and comparing prices. It was actually kind of fun, to be honest.
I finally grabbed everything on my list. Checked everything twice, paid my bill, and dragged it all to my car. Felt like such a grown-up, haha!
Putting It All to the Test
Back home, I unpacked everything and laid it all out on my kitchen counter. It looked so professional! I couldn’t wait to try it all out.
First test, I whipped out my first batch of chocolate chip cookies using the new mixer and scale.

Let me tell you, using a stand mixer instead of my old hand mixer was a game-changer! And the cookies? They turned out perfectly even and delicious. I think the scale really helped with that.I’m officially a pro baker now… or at least, I feel like one! Can’t wait to bake more!
