Okay, let’s bake some Christmas memories! I’ve always wanted to make those perfectly shaped Christmas cookies, so I finally grabbed a set of Wilton Christmas cookie cutters. Here’s how it all went down.
First, I gathered my ingredients. You know, the usual suspects: flour, butter, sugar, eggs, a little vanilla extract, and of course, the all-important sprinkles. I also made sure I had my rolling pin, baking sheets, and parchment paper ready to go.

The Dough Deal
I whipped up a basic sugar cookie dough. I’m no pro baker, so I just followed a recipe I found. Creaming the butter and sugar together was surprisingly satisfying, like making fluffy clouds.
Then in went the eggs and vanilla. Finally, I gradually added the flour until it all came together into a nice, smooth dough. The recipe said to chill the dough for at least an hour, so I wrapped it in plastic wrap and stuck it in the fridge.
Cutter Time!
This is where the Wilton cutters came in! After the dough was chilled, I rolled it out on a lightly floured surface. It took some elbow grease, but I got it to about 1/4 inch thick.
I laid out the cutters. The Wilton set had all the classics: a Christmas tree, a snowman, a star, a gingerbread man, and a candy cane. I carefully pressed each cutter into the dough, trying to get as many cookies as possible out of each roll.
I tried to place cookie cutters stratege, and I was full of joy!
Baking and Decorating
I carefully transferred the cut-out cookies onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Then, into the oven they went! I baked them for about 8-10 minutes, until the edges were just starting to turn golden brown. I am full of expect before I put them in oven!

Once the cookies were cooled, it was time for the fun part: decorating! I whipped up some simple royal icing. I divided the icing into different bowls and added a few drops of food coloring to each one. Then, I filled some piping bags with the icing and got to work!
I’m not gonna lie, my decorating skills are a work in progress, I try to draw some cute apperance. But hey, even the wonky-looking cookies tasted delicious! And of course, I covered some of them in sprinkles. Because, sprinkles!
- The Wilton cutters were really easy to use, and they made perfectly shaped cookies.
- Chilling the dough is crucial for getting clean cuts.
- Don’t overbake the cookies! You want them to be slightly soft in the middle.
- Have fun with the decorating! Even if they’re not perfect, they’ll still be delicious.
Overall, it was a super fun and festive baking experience. The Wilton Christmas cookie cutters definitely made the process easier and more enjoyable. Now, time to enjoy the fruits (or should I say, cookies) of my labor!
