Okay, so I’ve been on this baking kick lately, and let me tell you, the right baking paper makes all the difference. I started out just grabbing whatever was cheapest at the store, but I quickly learned that not all baking paper is created equal. I decided to find the best one I could afford, so I bought a few of the common baking paper brands to try out.
The Great Baking Paper Experiment
My first purchase? Some super cheap, generic brand. Big mistake. Everything stuck to it. Cookies, cakes, roasted veggies – you name it, it was a sticky mess. I literally had to scrape my food off, and half of it ended up stuck to the paper. Total waste of time and ingredients.

Next up, I tried a slightly more expensive brand, the one I usually see people buy. The result is ok, but the paper was so thin that it sometimes tore when I was trying to lift heavier things, like a whole roasted chicken. A little bit annoying, to be honest.
- Cheap Generic Brand: Fail. Everything sticks.
- Middle-of-the-Road Brand: Okay, but a bit flimsy.
Finally Found Gold
Finally, I thought I give another brand a try, since some people I know is using it. And wow, what a difference! This stuff was thick and sturdy. Nothing stuck, not even those delicate macarons I attempted. It was also super easy to cut and fit into my pans.
I even re-used the same sheet a couple of times for multiple batches of cookies, and it held up perfectly. No tearing, no sticking, just perfectly baked goodness. I’m never going back to those other brands.
My advice? Don’t cheap out on baking paper. It might seem like a small thing, but it really can make or break your baking experience. Spend a little extra for the good stuff – you won’t regret it!
