Alright, today I want to talk about making “123 vegetable oil.” Sounds simple, right? But let me tell you, it turned into a little bit of an adventure.
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I mean, you can’t make vegetable oil without vegetables, obviously. So, I grabbed some common veggies from my fridge – carrots, some leafy greens, and a couple of bell peppers. I also got some basic tools ready like a knife, a cutting board, and of course, a pot.

Getting Started
- I washed all the vegetables thoroughly. Gotta make sure everything is clean, you know?
- Then, I chopped them up into small pieces. Nothing fancy, just making sure they weren’t too big.
Now, this is where it got a little tricky. I needed to extract the oil, so I put all the chopped veggies into the pot. I added a bit of water, just enough to cover them, and started heating it up on the stove.
The Process
- I kept the heat on medium, not too high, not too low. Just right to slowly cook the veggies.
- After a while, I started to see some oily stuff floating on top. I was like, “Hey, it’s working!”
- I let it simmer for a good while longer, stirring occasionally. Patience is key, my friends.
Once I thought most of the oil was out, I took the pot off the stove. Then, I had to strain the mixture. I used a fine-mesh strainer to separate the liquid from the solid bits. It was a bit messy, I won’t lie.
The Result
- What I ended up with was a small amount of this oily liquid. It didn’t look like much, but it was definitely something.
- I poured it into a small jar. It had this greenish-yellow color and smelled kind of earthy.
So, that’s how I made my own “123 vegetable oil.” It wasn’t a lot, and it probably wasn’t the purest oil ever, but it was a fun experiment. I learned a lot about the process and how much effort it takes to get even a small amount of oil from vegetables. Would I do it again? Maybe, but it’s definitely more work than just buying a bottle from the store!
