Okay, here’s my experience making puff pastry garlic bread:
So, I decided to make some garlic bread the other day, but I wanted to try something a little different. I’d seen some recipes online using puff pastry, and I thought, “Why not?” It seemed easy enough, and I already had a box of frozen puff pastry in my freezer.

First, I took out one sheet of the puff pastry and let it thaw on the counter. While that was happening, I minced up a bunch of garlic. I’m talking like a whole head, because who doesn’t love garlic? Then I melted some butter in a pan and tossed in the garlic, cooking it until it was fragrant but not burnt. You gotta watch it like a hawk, ’cause burnt garlic is no good.
- Thaw puff pastry
- Mince garlic
- Melt butter
- Cook garlic in butter
Once the pastry was thawed, I rolled it out a bit on a baking sheet, just to make it a little thinner. Then I pricked it all over with a fork. I guess this helps prevent it from puffing up too much. After that, I brushed the whole thing with the garlic butter. Oh man, it smelled so good already.
Then, because I’m a bit extra, I sprinkled some Parmesan cheese and chopped green onions all over it. I figured it would give it a nice little kick, you know? You can use other cheese, too.
I popped the whole thing in a preheated oven at around 400 degrees Fahrenheit, maybe? I didn’t really time it, I just kept an eye on it until it was golden brown and crispy. Probably took about 15-20 minutes.
The Result
Let me tell you, this was the easiest and tastiest garlic bread I’ve ever made. It was so buttery and flaky, and the garlic flavor was just perfect. And that cheese and green onion topping? Chef’s kiss! It was a total crowd-pleaser, too. Everyone who tried it loved it. I’ll definitely be making this again.
I sliced it and served it at room temperature. It was a big success! Everyone enjoyed the bread, and I felt pretty proud of myself. It’s amazing what you can do with a simple box of puff pastry and some creativity.
It is so easy to eat. You don’t even need a plate. just grab a piece and go.

I’m thinking next time I might try adding some different herbs, or maybe even some bacon. The possibilities are endless! This puff pastry garlic bread was a total win, and I highly recommend giving it a try.
