So, I had this idea to make some fun shapes for the kids’ sandwiches, and I thought, why not get some cookie cutters? I mean, those things are not just for cookies, right? So, I went ahead and bought a set online. It arrived, and it was awesome, a whole bunch of different shapes and sizes.
I started using them, and let me tell you, it was a game changer. I pressed the cutter into the bread, gave it a little twist, and lifted. Boom! A star-shaped sandwich! My kids went nuts for it. They thought I was some kind of sandwich wizard or something. I was cutting out all sorts of shapes – hearts, dinosaurs, you name it.

Experimenting with Shapes
- Tried various shapes and sizes for the sandwiches.
- Made star, heart, and dinosaur shapes.
- Kids loved the fun-shaped sandwiches.
But then I thought, why stop at sandwiches? I started using them for other stuff too. I made some playdough shapes with my youngest. We rolled out the dough, pressed in the cutters, and made a whole zoo of animals. It was a blast, and kept him busy for hours. We even baked some simple sugar cookies together and used the cookie cutters.
Then, I had this crazy idea to use them for making decorations. I took some clay, rolled it out, and used the cutters to make all sorts of shapes. I baked them in the oven, and once they were cool, I painted them. Now I have a bunch of unique decorations for the house. I hung them around, and they look pretty cool if I do say so myself.
So, yeah, that’s my little story about cookie cutters. I bought a set for making fun sandwiches, and it turned into a whole thing. We made sandwiches, playdough shapes, and even decorations. It’s amazing how such a simple thing can be used in so many different ways. You really don’t have to spend a lot to have fun and be creative.
And let me tell you, my kids think I am a super hero now. They keep making requests and I am just rolling with it.
Who knew those little cookie cutters could bring so much joy? It is not just about the cookies anymore, that’s for sure!
It is really amazing what other uses you can find for things you already have lying around the house. So if you ever see those cookie cutters just sitting there, remember, they are not just for baking anymore!
