Okay, so I’ve been really craving some Portuguese sweet bread lately, you know, the kind they call “Pao Doce” or something like that. I’m no expert on this stuff, but I really wanted some.
So, I started looking around to see where I could find some “Portuguese sweet bread near me.” I figured there had to be a place nearby that sells it, right?
I hopped on my phone and started searching. I looked at a few apps like Instacart and DoorDash and Uber. They all had listings for bakeries and stores, but it was hard to tell which ones had the good stuff.
Delivery or Pickup?
The first thing I saw was that Instacart offered to deliver it to me in like an hour, or I could pick it up myself. They even said the first delivery or pickup order was free. That sounded pretty good, but I wasn’t sure which store to choose.
Then I saw DoorDash, and it looks like they have Amaral’s Portuguese Sweet Bread, which comes in a 16 oz loaf. They also promised to get it to my door in under an hour, which is pretty impressive.
Uber Eats was another option. They have a bunch of Portuguese restaurants listed, but I wasn’t really sure if they had the bread I was looking for, I don’t know that name Navolato though.
Found It!
Then I started looking at some local places like, Josefa’s Desayunador, Tunaku, Casa Cuina, Kaes, Chandeleur, La Herradura, I went to those places, but they just got some other breakfast stuff.
Finally, after all this searching, I found a place nearby that makes fresh Pao Doce. They had all sorts of pastries and breads, but the sweet bread was what I really wanted. It was so good, you know, fluffy and sweet, just like I remembered.
So, that’s my story about trying to find Portuguese sweet bread. It took a bit of searching, but I finally found what I was looking for. It was totally worth it, though. That bread was delicious!
