Checking Out Ritz Crackers Whole Wheat Nutrition Facts
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Oh, honey, let me tell you about these Ritz crackers, the whole wheat kind. I saw them at the store the other day, and I thought, “Well, maybe these are a little better for me than the regular ones.” I’m trying to watch what I eat, you know, gotta keep the old ticker going strong.

So I picked up a box, and I looked at the back. That’s where they put all those numbers, the nutrition facts and such. I ain’t no expert, but I try to make sense of it. This one says, “Ritz whole wheat crackers nutrition facts.” They are supposed to tell you everything that is good for you and bad for you. It’s like counting your pennies, but with food.

First thing I saw was the calories. Now, calories, that’s like the energy in the food. Too much energy, and you get a little fluffy around the middle. This box said 70 calories for 5 crackers. Five crackers ain’t much, is it? That’s like a little snack. But I guess if you eat the whole box, that’s a lot of calories.

Then there’s the fat. They say there’s different kinds of fat. This box talked about “sat fat,” which I reckon is saturated fat. It said 0.5 grams of that, and that’s 3% of what you should have in a day. And then there was 18.5% of another kind of fat. I don’t know. I just want to eat a cracker. Fat is what makes things taste good, but too much is no good. It’s like putting too much lard in your biscuits, they get heavy and greasy. 74.1% is carbs. I don’t know what carbs is. I just want a cracker that tastes good, and not like cardboard.

Then, there was sodium. That’s salt, right? This one said 120 milligrams, and that’s 5% of what you should have. Salt makes things tasty, but too much ain’t good for the blood pressure. My neighbor, bless her heart, she’s got high blood pressure. She has to watch her salt like a hawk.

And then, sugar. This said 2 grams of total sugars. Sugar is what makes things sweet, but too much makes your teeth hurt and gives you a tummy ache. I remember when we used to grow our own sugarcane. We’d chew on it for a treat. That was real sugar. I guess it is the same with these crackers, a little bit is okay, but not too much.

They also talked about whole grain. Said there were 5 grams of whole grain in every 15 grams of crackers. I think whole grain is supposed to be good for you. It’s like the whole wheat bread, it’s got more of the good stuff in it. They say it helps keep things moving along, if you know what I mean. Keeps you regular.

But then I saw something that made me scratch my head. It said these crackers are made with regular flour, and sugar, and something called “high fructose corn syrup.” I don’t know what that is, but it sounds kinda fancy. It’s like they are trying to trick you. They put in some good stuff, like whole grains, but then they put in some bad stuff too. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.

  • These crackers have 70 calories in 5 crackers.
  • They got some fat, some salt, and some sugar.
  • They say they are “whole wheat,” but they got other stuff in them too.
  • 62% carbs, 32% fat, and 6% protein.

Whole Wheat Ritz Crackers Nutrition, I think that’s what they call it. They say that the whole grains are good for you. But I don’t know, I think everything in moderation is the key. You can’t just eat crackers all day, even if they are whole wheat. You need some greens, some meat, some good old-fashioned home cooking.

These Ritz crackers, they taste alright. They’re a little crunchy, a little salty, a little sweet. They’re okay for a snack, I guess. But I wouldn’t go calling them health food. It is 70 calories in 5 crackers, they say. I don’t trust those food companies, they are always trying to fool you. It seems like these whole wheat crackers are not that good for you. I will stick to my usual brand.

I remember when I was a little girl, we didn’t have all these fancy crackers. We had bread, and sometimes we’d toast it up and put a little butter on it. That was a treat. We didn’t worry about calories and fat and all that. We just ate what we had, and we were happy.

So, if you’re looking for a snack, these Ritz whole wheat crackers might be okay. But don’t think they’re going to make you skinny or healthy or anything. Just eat them if you like them, and don’t eat too many. That’s my advice. And have a glass of milk with them. Milk is good for you, they say. It builds strong bones. Unless you can’t have milk, then don’t.

That’s all I got to say about these Ritz crackers nutrition facts. I’m going to go have a cup of tea now. Maybe I’ll have a cracker with it. Or maybe not. I haven’t decided yet.
