How to Make the Best Honey BBQ Chicken Bites Ever
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Alright, let’s talk about them honey BBQ chicken bites. You know, the kind that are good for pickin’ at when you’re watchin’ the TV or when the grandkids come over.

First off, you gotta get yourself some chicken. I like to use them boneless, skinless breasts, cut ‘em up into bite-sized pieces. Not too big, not too small, you know? Just right for poppin’ in your mouth. Makes it easy for the little ones and the old folks with no teeth.

Now, some folks like to fry their chicken, but I ain’t got time for all that mess. Too much splattering oil and makes the whole house smell like a greasy spoon. I bake mine. Yep, just put ‘em on a pan in the oven. I put a little bit of salt and pepper on ‘em first, not too much though. Don’t want to make them too salty.

  • Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • Spread them on a baking pan.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the oven.

Bake ‘em at, oh, I don’t know, maybe 350 degrees? For how long? Well, that depends. Till they’re cooked through, I reckon. You can poke one with a fork, if the juice runs clear, they’re done. You don’t want no pink chicken, that’s for sure. Pink chicken will make you sick as a dog, and nobody wants that.

Now, the honey BBQ sauce. That’s the good stuff. I used to make my own, back in the day, but now I just buy it from the store. Too much trouble to make it myself, and the store-bought stuff is pretty darn good. But you gotta be careful when you put it on. See, that sauce has got a lot of sugar in it. If you put it on too early, it’ll burn. Burnt sugar tastes awful, let me tell you.

So, what I do is, I bake the chicken for a bit, till it’s almost done, then I brush on the sauce. Yep, just brush it on, all over. Then I put it back in the oven for a few more minutes, just to let the sauce get all sticky and caramelized. That’s the secret, you see. Gotta let that sauce get sticky.

And that’s all there is to it. Honey BBQ chicken bites, easy as pie. They’re perfect for parties, game day, or just a regular old Tuesday night. Kids love ‘em, grown-ups love ‘em, even my old dog tries to sneak a bite when I ain’t lookin’. And you know what? They’re even good cold, the next day. Just stick ‘em in the fridge and you got yourself a snack for later.

Sometimes I add a little extra somethin’ somethin’ to the sauce. A little bit of garlic powder, maybe some onion powder. Even a pinch of cayenne pepper if I’m feelin’ spicy. You can experiment, you know? It’s your chicken, you can do whatever you want with it. Just don’t burn it, and don’t undercook it. Nobody wants raw chicken, that’s for sure.

One more thing, don’t go throwing away that pan drippings. You can make gravy out of it. Just add a little flour and water, stir it up, and you got yourself some tasty gravy to pour over your chicken bites or mashed potatoes. Waste not, want not, that’s what my mama always said.

How to Make the Best Honey BBQ Chicken Bites Ever

So there you have it. My recipe for honey BBQ chicken bites. It ain’t fancy, but it’s good. It’s the kind of food that sticks to your ribs and makes you feel all warm and cozy inside. And that’s what matters, ain’t it?
