Realemon: Is It Really as Good as Fresh Lemon Juice?

Alright, let’s talk about this Realemon versus lemon juice thing, you know? I ain’t no fancy cook or nothin’, but I know a thing or two about squeezin’ lemons and usin’ that bottled stuff.

First off, that Realemon stuff, it’s mighty convenient, I tell ya. You just twist that cap and pour, no messin’ around with cuttin’ and squeezin’. It says right on the bottle, “100% Real Lemon Juice,” but made from concentrate. Now, what that means is they took the juice outta lemons, then they cooked it down, or somethin’, to get rid of the water. Then they add water back in I guess, makes sense don’t it?

Realemon: Is It Really as Good as Fresh Lemon Juice?

But is it as good as squeezin’ your own lemons? Well, that depends on what you’re usin’ it for, I reckon. If you’re just makin’ lemonade for the grandkids, that Realemon stuff works just fine. It’s cheap too, which is always a good thing, especially these days when everything costs a fortune.

  • Taste: Now, if you’re talkin’ about taste, well, there ain’t nothin’ like the real deal. A fresh-squeezed lemon, it’s got that zing, that somethin’ special that you just don’t get from a bottle. That Realemon stuff, it’s kinda… flat, you know? Like it’s missin’ somethin’. It ain’t bad, mind you, just not as good. Like the difference between a fresh tomato from your garden and one of them hard, tasteless things from the store, you follow?
  • Health: They say lemon juice is good for ya, all that vitamin C and whatnots. And yeah, Realemon has got some of that good stuff too. But they say fresh lemons, they got more of them vitamins and other things that are good for ya, like those antiox… antiox… well, you know, those things that fight off sickness. And if you’re worried about kidney stones, they say real lemon juice can help with that too. So if you’re looking for the healthy stuff, maybe fresh is the way to go. But if you’re just wanting some lemon flavor, and not trying to cure something, that bottled stuff won’t hurt ya none. It’s better than drinking soda pop, I tell ya that much!
  • Price: Now, here’s where that Realemon shines. Lemons ain’t always cheap, especially when they ain’t in season. And squeezing them takes time. That Realemon stuff, it’s always the same price, and it lasts a good long while in the fridge. So if you’re on a budget, or if you just don’t want to be bothered with squeezin’ lemons, that bottle stuff is a good option. It’s like the difference between buying fresh green beans and buying them in a can. The canned ones are cheaper and faster, but they ain’t as tasty. It’s always a trade off, ain’t it?

So, which one is better? Like I said, it depends. If you want the best taste and the most health benefits, and you don’t mind paying a little more and putting in a little work, then fresh lemons are the way to go. But if you want somethin’ quick, easy, and cheap, then that Realemon stuff will do just fine. It ain’t gonna kill ya, and it’ll give you that lemon flavor you’re lookin’ for. And sometimes, that’s all you need. Like when you are just making a little something and don’t want to waste a whole lemon.

There’s also those fancy lemons, like that Meyer lemon they talk about. They say it’s a mix of a lemon and a mandarin orange. I ain’t never had one of them myself, but they sound mighty good. And then there’s all them other bottled lemon juices out there. I ain’t tried them all, but I reckon they’re probably about the same as Realemon. Some might be a little better, some might be a little worse, but they ain’t gonna be as good as a fresh lemon, that’s for sure.

They also say three tablespoons of that Realemon is about the same as one lemon. That’s good to know if you’re followin’ a recipe. And don’t forget to shake the bottle before you use it, and put it back in the fridge after. Otherwise, it’ll go bad, and nobody wants that.

So, there you have it. My two cents on this Realemon versus lemon juice thing. It ain’t rocket science, just common sense. You use what you got and what you can afford. And don’t let nobody tell you different.
