Fun and Creative Back to School Desserts to Make with Kids
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Alright, let’s talk about them back-to-school desserts, you know, the sweet stuff for the young’uns. Kids these days, gotta have their treats, ain’t that right? So, we gotta make it good, real good, but not too fancy, you hear? Nothin’ them city folk with their fancy words can understand, just good ol’ fashioned sweetness.

Fun and Creative Back to School Desserts to Make with Kids

First off, them Strawberry Shakes. Now, ain’t nothin’ complicated here. You get your strawberries, the redder the better, I always say. Toss ‘em in the blender with some milk, maybe a little ice cream if you’re feelin’ fancy, and whiz it up good. That’s it! Kids love it, and it’s good for ‘em too, kinda like eatin’ fruit, only better. Makes about four glasses, enough for all the little rascals.

Next up, somethin’ a bit more… substantial, you know? We got these Chocolate Malt Crispy Bars. These ain’t for the faint of heart, mind you. You melt some chocolate, mix in some malt powder – you know, that stuff they put in milkshakes? – and then you stir in some crispy rice cereal. Mash it all down in a pan, let it cool, and then cut it up into squares. Twenty-four squares, the recipe says, but them kids, they’ll eat more than one, you can bet your bottom dollar on that! These are chewy and crunchy and all kinds of good. Perfect for packin’ in their lunchboxes, if they don’t eat ‘em all first.

  • Strawberry Shakes: Easy peasy, just blend and drink. Good for hot days or anytime, really.
  • Chocolate Malt Crispy Bars: A bit more work, but worth it. Chewy, crunchy, and chocolatey. Kids love ’em.
  • Frozen Banana Split Pie: Now this one’s special. Takes a bit more time, but it’s like a whole party in your mouth.

And then, for somethin’ special, when them kids do good on their tests or somethin’, you make ‘em a Frozen Banana Split Pie. This one’s a bit more work, but it’s worth it, trust me. You get yourself a pie crust, fill it with bananas, ice cream – all different kinds, if you got ‘em – chocolate sauce, nuts, cherries, whatever you got on hand. Then you freeze it. When it’s all frozen up, you slice it and serve it. This ain’t no everyday dessert, mind you. This is for when you wanna celebrate, when them kids do somethin’ worth celebratin’. Serves about eight folks, or maybe just four real hungry ones, ha!

Now, I ain’t no fancy baker, but I know what kids like. They like sweet stuff, they like stuff they can eat with their hands, and they like stuff that tastes good. And these desserts, well, they tick all them boxes. You don’t need no fancy equipment or ingredients, just good ol’ fashioned elbow grease and a whole lotta love. That’s the secret ingredient, you know? Love makes everything taste better, even desserts.

So, there you have it. Three back-to-school desserts that even I can make, and that’s sayin’ somethin’! They’re simple, they’re delicious, and they’re guaranteed to put a smile on them kids’ faces. And ain’t that what it’s all about? Makin’ them little ones happy, even if it’s just for a little while, with a little bit of sweetness.

Remember, don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty, and don’t worry too much about makin’ it perfect. Kids don’t care if it’s perfect, they just care if it tastes good. So go on, get in that kitchen and bake somethin’ sweet. Your kids, and your grandkids, and even your neighbors’ kids, will thank you for it. And that, my friend, is a good feelin’.

These desserts, they ain’t just for back-to-school, you know? You can make ‘em anytime. Birthdays, holidays, Tuesdays… any day is a good day for dessert, if you ask me. And why not? Life’s too short to not eat dessert. So go ahead, indulge a little. You deserve it. And them kids, well, they deserve it too.

Now get to bakin’!
