Best Ways to Use Strawberry Food Coloring in Your Kitchen
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Alright, let’s talk about this strawberry food coloring thing, you know? I ain’t no fancy cook or nothin’, but I know a thing or two about makin’ food look pretty, the old-fashioned way.

Best Ways to Use Strawberry Food Coloring in Your Kitchen

You see all them fancy bottles at the store, all bright and colorful? Well, back in my day, we didn’t have none of that. We used what we had, and let me tell you, what we had was good enough. And it didn’t have all them chemicals and whatnot that them city folks put in everything.

Now, if you wanna make somethin’ pink or red, strawberries is a good place to start, that’s for sure. You take some strawberries, nice and ripe, and you squish ’em up real good. You can use a fork, your hands, whatever you got. Just mash ‘em up good.

Then, you gotta get the juice outta them berries. You can squeeze ’em through a cloth, like an old t-shirt or somethin’ clean, or you can use a strainer if you got one of them fancy things. The point is, you want that juice, nice and red.

Now, that juice, it ain’t gonna be as bright as them store-bought colors, mind you. It’ll be more of a soft pink, kinda like a baby’s blush, you know? But that’s alright, it’s natural, that’s what matters! If you want it a bit stronger, you gotta use more strawberries, simple as that.

I heard tell you can use some other stuff too, like beets. You know, them red roots? They say you can boil ‘em up and get a good red color from ‘em. Never tried it myself, but I reckon it works just fine. Heard tell you can even buy beet powder, which is even easier, I guess.

Best Ways to Use Strawberry Food Coloring in Your Kitchen
  • For Pink: Squish them strawberries and strain the juice. Easy peasy.
  • For Red: Use lots of strawberries or try them beets I was talkin’ about. Maybe boil ‘em, maybe find that powder stuff.
  • For Bright Pink: I don’t know much about makin’ it brighter. Maybe you add a bit more strawberries? Or maybe find some other red stuff to mix in. Use your head, you’ll figure it out.

Now, some folks, they wanna make fancy colors, like peach pink or somethin’. I ain’t got no time for that fancy stuff. But I reckon you could add a little bit of somethin’ yellow to the pink, maybe some carrot juice, if you want a peachy color. And if you want it brighter, they say you can add a touch of blue. But where you gonna get blue from, I don’t know! Maybe some blueberries, I guess? It all sounds like too much trouble to me.

The thing is, you gotta experiment. That’s how we always did it. You try a little of this, a little of that, and see what happens. Maybe it works, maybe it don’t. But that’s half the fun of it, you know?

And don’t go thinkin’ you can just use any old berries or roots you find. You gotta make sure they ain’t poisonous or nothin’. You don’t wanna go makin’ folks sick, now do ya? If you ain’t sure, don’t use it. Better safe than sorry, I always say.

And remember, this ain’t gonna be like them store-bought colors, okay? It ain’t gonna be perfect, and it might not last as long. But it’ll be natural, and it’ll be made with your own two hands. And that’s worth somethin’, ain’t it?

So, next time you wanna add a little color to your food, don’t go runnin’ to the store. Try makin’ your own strawberry food coloring. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s a whole lot better for you. Trust me on this one, I know what I’m talkin’ about.

Best Ways to Use Strawberry Food Coloring in Your Kitchen

Homemade is always best. That’s what my mama always said, and she was a smart woman, she was. So go on, get in that kitchen and start squishin’ some strawberries! You might just surprise yourself.

And one last thing, don’t go dyin’ no fresh fruit with nothin’, unless it’s them citrus peels, like them lemons and oranges. That’s what I heard anyway. Stick to cookin’ and bakin’ with your colors, and you’ll be just fine.

That’s all I got to say about that. Now get out of here and let me get back to my business.
