How to Use Saf Red Yeast for Pizza and Baguettes
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Alright, let’s talk about this Saf Red Yeast stuff, ya know? My grandbaby, she’s always bakin’ somethin’, always usin’ this yeast. So, I figured, why not tell y’all about it, the way I see it.

How to Use Saf Red Yeast for Pizza and Baguettes

First off, what is this yeast thing anyway? Well, it’s like this magic powder, makes the bread all puffy and nice. They call it “fermentation,” but that’s just fancy talk for makin’ things rise. This Saf-Instant Red, it’s the real deal, they say it’s “natural,” whatever that means. Probably means it ain’t got no funny chemicals in it, like that store-bought bread that tastes like plastic.

Now, they got different kinds of this Saf-Instant stuff. There’s the Gold one, and this Red one. The Gold, that’s for when you’re makin’ sweet bread, like them cinnamon rolls my grandbaby loves. But this Red one, that’s what you use for regular bread, pizza dough, and them long skinny breads, what do they call ’em… bag-gettes? Yeah, those.

Why use Saf-Instant Red? Well, it’s easy, that’s why. You don’t gotta go fussin’ with it, mixin’ it in warm water and waitin’ around. Just dump it right in with the flour, and you’re good to go. My grandbaby, she’s always in a hurry, so this instant stuff is perfect for her. And let me tell ya, her bread is mighty fine.

  • Easy to use: No need to proof it, just mix it in.
  • Good for low sugar doughs: Perfect for pizza, baguettes, and regular bread.
  • Makes bread rise nice and even: That’s what they call “uniform leavening,” I think.
  • Clean label: I guess that means it ain’t got a bunch of junk in it.

My grandbaby, she showed me this thing on her phone, says the Saf-Red Yeast is best for doughs with less than 5% sugar. That means if you ain’t puttin’ much sugar in your dough, this Red stuff is your best bet. If you’re makin’ somethin’ sweeter, then you gotta go with the Gold. Makes sense, I guess.

Now, I ain’t no baker, but I’ve eaten my fair share of bread in my life. And I can tell you, the bread my grandbaby makes with this Saf-Instant Red, it’s somethin’ special. It’s got that good, yeasty smell, and it’s soft and fluffy on the inside, with a nice crust on the outside. Just like bread should be.

So, if you’re lookin’ for a good yeast to use, give this Saf-Instant Red a try. It’s easy to use, and it makes darn good bread. You don’t gotta be a fancy baker, either. Just follow the directions on the package, and you’ll be makin’ bread like a pro in no time. And if you mess up, well, that’s alright too. Even bad bread is better than no bread, I always say.

What to use this Saf Red Yeast in? Well, like I said, pizza is a good one. My grandbaby makes pizza every Friday night, and it’s always a hit. She uses this Red yeast, and the crust comes out perfect every time. You can also use it for baguettes, those long skinny French breads. They’re good for soppin’ up gravy, or just eatin’ with butter. And of course, you can use it for regular old sandwich bread, too. Nothin’ beats a good homemade sandwich, ya know?

So, there you have it. That’s my two cents on this Saf Red Yeast. It’s good stuff, easy to use, and makes darn good bread. If you’re lookin’ to bake somethin’, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. And if you are, well, don’t come cryin’ to me. I just told you what I know, and what my grandbaby tells me. Now go on and bake somethin’!
