Well, look at this here fancy named sugar. Imperial Extra-Fine Pure Cane Granulated Sugar, they call it. Comes in a 4-pound bag, too. Hefty! Sounds like something the rich folk use, but let me tell ya, sugar’s sugar. Whether it’s this fancy kind or the regular stuff, it all makes things sweet.

Now, what’s in it? Says right there, “100% Pure Cane Sugar.” That’s it. No long list of things you can’t even pronounce. Just sugar. Comes from that cane plant, they say. Guess they squeeze it out and make it into these tiny little crystals. Real fine they are, supposed to dissolve quick.
They say this sugar is different from the regular kind. Says it’s “extra fine” and only made from cane, not them beet things. Alright, alright. I guess that means it’s a little bit better, maybe. Makes it dissolve faster, you know, in your coffee or tea. No more stirrin’ and stirrin’ ’til your arm gets tired.
- 100% Pure Cane Sugar – That’s all it is. Sugar. Just sugar from that cane plant.
Some folks are worried about what’s in their food these days. This sugar, it’s supposed to be “non-GMO.” Means they didn’t mess with it too much, I guess. Also says it’s “allergen-free.” Good for them folks with allergies, I suppose. No milk, eggs, fish, or any of that stuff in it. Just sugar.
You can use it for baking, sweetening drinks, whatever you use sugar for. It’s got them little crystals, so it mixes in real easy. They say it’s good for making memories, this sugar. “Made-from-scratch memories,” they call it. Well, I suppose good food does make for good memories, alright.
This sugar is also “Kosher” and “Halal.” Don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds important to some folks. And it’s “Vegan” and “Gluten free.” Seems like they’re trying to make sure everyone can use it. Which is fine, I guess. More sugar for everyone.

Now, they also say this sugar got 15 calories in it. Well, of course it does! It’s sugar! Everything sweet’s got calories. Don’t matter if it’s fancy sugar or plain sugar. It’s still gonna make ya sweet, and maybe a little round around the middle if you eat too much.
Comes in a big 25-pound bag too, they say. That’s a lot of sugar! Guess if you do a lot of baking or canning, you might need that much. For me, a little 4-pound bag lasts a good long while.
So, there you have it. This Imperial sugar, it’s just sugar. Fancy name, fine crystals, but at the end of the day, it’s sugar. Makes things sweet, and that’s all that matters. Don’t get too caught up in all them fancy words. Just use it to make somethin’ tasty.
