Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following all your instructions:
So, the other day I was following this killer recipe for chocolate chip cookies – you know, the kind that are chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges? – and it called for 180 grams of sugar. Now, I’m usually a “dump it in until it looks right” kind of baker, but I decided to be all precise and stuff this time.

Problem is, my kitchen scale decided to die on me. Right in the middle of my baking prep! Talk about frustrating. I only had measuring cups. So, I was like, “Okay, Google, how many cups is 180 grams of sugar?”
My Sugar Conversion Adventure
First things,I grab my phone, open that trusty search bar. Started typing, “180g sugar to cups” and boom, stuff pop up,that’s it.
I saw something about it being around 7/8 of a cup. Sounded simple enough, right?
I went ahead and carefully measured out 7/8 of a cup. It looked about right, maybe a tiny bit less than I would’ve normally used, but I trusted the internet (for once).
- Grab my old cup.
- Spoon the sugar.
- Make sure the sugar is’t be Piled up.
I finished the cookies, followed all the other steps, and you know what? They turned out AMAZING. Seriously, maybe the best batch I’ve ever made. The texture was perfect, the sweetness was spot-on… I was pretty proud of myself.
Turns out, being accurate with your measurements, especially with things like sugar, can actually make a difference. Who knew? (Probably all those professional bakers, but hey, I’m learning!). And yeah i know,it may vary slightly by room temperature or quality of sugar or something else, whatever.
So next time I need do that,I will remember this.
